This is a big heart tomato that is at F4. It needs to be finished and so I am giving you the chance to do that. You will still see some diversity but not much. I have seen both potato leaf and regular leaf. There are not many potato leaf tomatoes so I would select for that. Check out this one and the sister plant 1200-60-03-03. Both are unique and both have great flavor.

This bright orange tomato is at F4 and should be one of the easier ones to finish. The tangerine gene is the recessive trait I was wanting. I was able to pick it up in the first grow out and simply selected the one with the best flavor. The next year I had about a dozen plants and selected again for flavor but also chose the one that produced the most tomatoes.

Both this tomato and its sister line 1200-30-05 have some interesting parents. Also, please check out 1200-32-02. It has one of the same parents and the other parent is Cherokee Purple. I got some seed from Europe from a striped green when ripe heart shaped tomato. I ended up with a sausage shaped tomato from this line that I used as one of the parents.

I have an emotional attachment to the tomato Linhart’s Giant. We sell that seed so you can read the story on that page. I crossed Linhart’s Giant with a tomato that contains stripes and green flesh gene. There are also genes for High Pigment and Tangerine. The thing I love about this type of genetic project is the odds of getting something rare.

This tomato was a cross of Cherokee Purple and a striped green when ripe heart shaped tomato seedling in development. This was GWR heart was the same parent used in the crosses for 1200-30-05 and 08. This was a nice heart shaped tomato that I thought had great flavor. You can still expect to see some black or purple tomatoes and they could be beefsteak, round, or hearts.

Both this F3 line and its sister selection of 1200-22-23 have Cherokee Purple as a parent. The other parent was a delicious pink tomato from an heirloom potato leaf variety. The sister from this parent became Ozark Sunset. This selection was a superb purple tomato with green shoulders. The flavor was rich and complex and worthy of development.

This is a very sweet tomato that has Sungold as a parent and Brandywine as a grandparent. I had a red seedling from a Brandywine cross I did early in my breeding. This seedling was one of the best flavored tomatoes I have ever had. I crossed this with Sungold and made the selections over several years to produce this F4 seed.

The original plant out of this cross, 1200-19, had about 50 plants. I selected two. This one is at F4 generation. This is a medium size tomato and very prolific. You will have a good chance of getting a tomato that produces bucket loads of purple or chocolate colored tomatoes with rich complex flavor. This is another breeding line that seems to produce good tasting tomatoes on every plant.

A lot of thought went into this tomato. I wanted to breed something that would give me years of work if I decided I would not do anymore crossing. Out of all my breeding work, this tomato has the most complex parenting. I first made hybrids. Then I crossed those hybrids. This is the F2 seed from that complicated cross.

Well this one was unexpected. I found this tomato from the Tomato Genetics Research Center called LA1016. It was a really weird color so I crossed it with Cherokee Purple. I was expecting to select odd colored tomatoes. What I was not expecting was a tomato with a Brix reading of over 7. That is a very high sugar content for a tomato.
