When you consider that what makes a tomato pink comes from a recessive gene you just can’t help but marvel at Arequipa. This is another fine example of an ancient tomato line from Peru. The town of Arequipa, sitting more than 7500 feet above sea level, has been a trading center for centuries. This beautiful small pink tomato has been grown in the area and sold in the local markets for at least 100 years and probably longer. Arequipa is definitely one for your heirloom collection.
